Hey Alex,
yes, indeed we are considering developing a web interface for the
project. Initially the plan was to implement a read-only version of that
in 0.5, but it looks like it won't happen. Right now we are laying a
groundwork for disconnected/distributed operations and it appears to be
a fair amount of work involving the very core of the system. So we've
decided to move this task to at least 0.6, which will probably happen
around Feb.
As for integrating a web interface, we are planning to build a Python
module (for the start at least) providing DITrack-specific API. Thus,
any DITrack-based application (including a web interface) will operate
solely through this API, without accessing a database directly. Sure,
support for other languages (such as PHP) is envisioned too, but first
we are going to concentrate on low hanging fruits to get the task done.
